When Kate texted me six months ago and asked for me to snap some shots of her, that was my first business gig offer. Well...not really. At the time I never thought that people would take me seriously and before then, I had always taken photos of people for free. I didn't know how to edit well and I didn't know how to use lightroom well (lightroom is the editing and retouching software I now use). My mom had always told me I spent way too much time on taking photos and that I should start charging for them but I thought she was completely crazy. Who would hire a 12 year old photographer? But my mom insisted. So, I responded to her saying that I'd do it for around two hours for 5 dollars. We met up on a chilly February evening and took some shots with a mutual friend- Marin. Everything went well and Kate enjoyed her photos. So, the past memorial weekend, Kate and Marin scheduled another shoot in July. Since I was busy preparing for my trip to China and we had accidentally scheduled it on Father's day, we moved the date to after my trip...and now I'm finished processing the images for all of ya'll to see! This photo shoot was so fun! It was great to see how I have grown as a photographer and how my shooting and editing style has changed since only six months ago. Kate and Marin are honestly the best people ever...they're so sweet and so fun! We shot at a pond near their homes and got a bunch of geese and the best light! Thank you so much Marin and Kate, I had a blast! Now for the photos:
